Chancey Farming: A Comprehensive Guide

Introduction

Chancey is a Pokémon that is known for giving a lot of experience points (XP) when defeated. This makes it a great target for players who are looking to quickly level up their Pokémon.

There are two main ways to farm Chancey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

  1. North Province (Area Three)
  2. Area Zero

This blog post will provide a comprehensive guide to both of these methods, as well as additional tips for Chancey farming.

North Province (Area Three)

This method is relatively early-game friendly, as it only requires a Lucky Egg and a Ham Sandwich

To start, travel to the North Province (Area Three) and head north to the dirt path outside the Team Star base. Once you’re there, open the menu and start a picnic. Make a Ham Sandwich – which is Ham, Pickle, Mustard and Mayo. Eat it to increase your normal Encounter Power – spawning more Chanceys. Then, equip a Lucky Egg on the Pokémon you want to level up and start battling Chancey. You should be able to defeat them in a single move – be sure to use physical moves, and you’ll earn around 3,000 XP per battle.

Area Zero

This method is for endgame players, as it requires you to complete the Crater Zero quest to fully explore the area. Once you have access to Area Zero, travel to research station 3. From there, head to the left of the mountainside until you come across a large tree, circled in blue above. To the left of the tree, hidden in the rocks is a cave opening. Head in here and it will bring you to an open space where Chanceys freely roam.

Prior to this, since you are unable to launch a picnic in Area Zero, make sure to start a picnic and eat a Ham Sandwich to spawn dozens of Chancey, and then start battling them. You’ll earn even more XP here than you did in the North Province, as the Chanceys are level 55 here.

Additional tips

  • Use a Pokémon with physical attacks, as Chanceys Sp. Def is quite high.
  • Fighting moves are super effective here.
  • Bring multiple pokemon, or a method of restoring PP such as  Aromatherapy, Refresh, Elixirs and so on.

Iv Training: Chancey is a great method for IV training for Tera Raid builds, as it provides the HP stat for IVs – a popular choice for Tera Raiding. Equip your pokemon with either a Power Bracer or Power Lens, before Chancey farming – this will essentially kill two birds with one stone, as you will be leveling up quickly, and training necessary IVs for Tera Raids.

Conclusion:

Chancey farming is a great way to quickly level up your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Just remember to follow the tips in this blog post, and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a Pokémon Master!
